Labor Credit Union

An exciting new look has come to Department of Labor Federal Credit Union. We are now known as Labor Credit Union.

For over eight decades, we’ve been serving those that drive, support, and care for the labor movement. Although the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) is our primary sponsor and will continue to be, we recognize that many groups, associations, and partnerships beyond USDOL have mission statements that align closely with those of USDOL. We aim to be inclusive of these groups as well, and to reflect our goal of being inclusive of everyone that serves and supports the labor movement. As of July 1st, 2022, we will be moving forward as Labor Credit Union.

Why are we changing our name?
We were organized by working people, for working people to help them build a foundation of financial strength. Through the years, we have welcomed members from Department of Labor and its partner organizations, whose duty is to protect the rights of working people. The new brand reflects our dedication to continue that movement by serving the entire labor industry – whose members also work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of many. The re-brand and change to our name is not due to a credit union merger. Rather it is a way to introduce our Credit Union to even more people who qualify for membership. And it lets us return more value to even more members and help more working people build a foundation of financial strength.

What does this mean to you?
Your Credit Union remains the same. The only change is the name and the logo, which reflects our dedication to you and the labor movement. Your accounts, as well as the products and services we offer, will not change, or be affected. And your Board of Directors, Executives, and Credit Union staff will still be here to serve you from our Francis Perkins and Bureau of Labor Statistics locations. We are also in the planning stages of expanding and opening additional locations, so that we can continue to be a pillar of convenience for you in meeting your banking needs. Working People Helping Working People Just as the labor movement comes together to help make life better for everyone, Labor Credit Union is here to do the same for you. Rest assured, we’ll be here whenever you need us — serving the labor movement and helping members build a foundation of financial strength.

We are excited about our rebrand and understand there may be questions about what to expect or how this may impact you. Rest assured we will be in communication with our members every step of the way.

If you have any additional questions regarding the name change, please contact us at (202) 789-2901.
